Thank you to all who have supported our efforts to protect our families and preserve the safety, dignity, and stability of our communities.

What has come to be known as the Skver Mile is no longer a matter of noise, nuisance, or neighborhood inconvenience. It has become a genuine public-safety and a concern of Pikuach Nefesh. What began with disturbances and deterioration has escalated into a pattern of reckless, violent, and dangerous incidents directly affecting the lives of our neighbors.

We are sharing the following because every member of our community deserves to understand the reality and urgency of the situation.

Documented Incidents in Our Neighborhoods

These incidents occurred near or at homes owned, managed, or associated with the Skver housing network. They represent only what has been reported; the true scope is far greater. Violence, Assaults, and Criminal Acts.

Kidnapping Attempt and Violent Assault

A taxi driver fitting the demographic of individuals placed in Skver-owned homes assaulted a Monsey woman while under the influence of drugs. He used a weapon, strangled her, and attempted to kidnap her.

Home Invasion

A man matching the same demographic unlawfully entered a community member’s home and refused to leave. A violent struggle followed before police arrived. The family’s children slept in their parents’ bed for three months afterward due to trauma.

Multiple Stabbings and SWAT Response

Several Skver houses have already been the sites of violent episodes:

4 Bonnie Ct. – multiple people injured and one stabbed.

21 Rensselaer Dr. – a stabbing

122 Hempstead Rd. – a stabbing followed by an armed man barricading himself inside, requiring SWAT intervention and a neighborhood lockdown.

These events took place steps away from our homes and Shuls.

Reckless and Dangerous Driving

Chol HaMoed Succos Crash and Police Chase

A group of teens matching the Skver-house demographic sped through the neighborhood, nearly crashing into a family sitting in their driveway. Minutes later, the car lost control, hit another parked vehicle, fled, crashed again, and was later found with multiple police cars outside 1 Rensselaer Dr., a Skver house.

Hit-and-Run on Sunny Ridge

An intoxicated driver smashed into a parked car and hid his vehicle behind 42 Sunny Ridge.

Drunk Driver Leaving Durante Court

Men leaving Shul observed a drunk driver pulling out of 4 Durante Ct., across from the Shul. He struck a parked car and drove away, later denying it to police.

Traffic Hazard at Greenridge Way

At 27 Greenridge Way, six illegally parked cars block visibility at a three-way intersection. There has already been an accident there, along with many near misses.

Women Feeling Unsafe on Friday Nights

One of the most distressing developments is that women have become afraid to walk to and from the Mikvah on Friday nights. Disturbances, intoxication, and unpredictable activity around nearby Skver homes have created an atmosphere that feels unsafe and unsettling.

For many women, what should be a serene and holy experience has turned into an anxious walk past houses known for dangerous behavior, or even postponing leil tevilah to Motzaei Shabbos. This alone highlights the deterioration of safety, dignity, and kedushah in areas that must remain sacred and protected.

This Is a Widespread and Immediate Danger

There are over 500 Skver-owned or Skver-controlled houses scattered throughout our neighborhoods.
No one knows who is living in each home, what backgrounds they may have, or what risks they may pose.

This is not a localized issue.
It is not theoretical.
It is not a future concern.

It is happening now, on dozens of blocks, near hundreds of frum families, and adjacent to routes where our children play and our women walk.

We cannot wait until the next stabbing, the next assault, the next crash, or c”v the next tragedy.

A Halachic and Moral Obligation

In recent discussions, including with Rav Schlesinger shlit”a, this situation has been clearly identified as Pikuach Nefesh, a direct matter of life and safety.

For years, our community has attempted diplomacy, dialogue, negotiation, and outreach.
Yet the Skver operation continues to grow, in finances, in manpower, and in the number of homes they purchase and populate. Attempts to resolve this quietly have failed. The risks have only increased.

What You Can Do Right Now

We call on everyone who cares about safety, community stability, and kavod haTorah to act:

Share this article widely, tell your friends what’s going on. Make sure every Yid in Monsey, Lakewood, Five Towns, Brooklyn, Miami, Los Angeles, London, know this and ask them to please pause donations to any Skver mosod until this campaign ends. Explain clearly that a group spending hundreds of millions of dollars to purchase over 500 homes across other Jewish neighborhoods does not need charitable donations.

Raise awareness that unless pressure is applied now, the danger will only escalate.

This is not about conflict.
This is not about politics.

This is about safety, dignity, and protecting Jewish families.
