It seems New Square has decided that instead of addressing legitimate
concerns, they’ll go the censorship route. Word is they’ve leaned on
Geder and Mishemer (two web filtering services) to completely block
our website under the label of “inappropriate material.” Not only is
this move petty and desperate, it may also be skating on the edge of
illegality (intent to suppress lawful speech).
If this is their strategy, it’s laughable. They’ve also tried flagging
our WhatsApp account.. But here’s the reality: if one outlet gets shut
down, we have plenty of bigger, better, and faster options ready to
roll. All this does is motivate us to push harder and ramp up the
pressure.
Let’s remember the core issue here. Over 500+ families have been
asking and pleading to be heard. And what’s New Square’s response?
Silence. Or worse, an attempt to silence us. This is not the behavior
of a confident, principled community. This is the behavior of people
who know they can’t defend their actions and are hoping if they just
block enough voices, the problem will disappear.
Newsflash: that won’t happen.
We’ve learned to expect this kind of paranoia from them, even if 99.9%
of Klal Yisrael is shocked by it. But before this spirals further,
they’d be wise to just walk away from this scheme entirely. Sell the
homes. Cut the losses. We live across a busy road, our closest homes
are a 10 minute walk to their homes (and many are closer to 1/2
hour!); we don’t get in their way, and are happy to keep it that way.
Paranoid people make reckless decisions, and this is no exception.
This is unraveling quickly, and if New Square doesn’t quit now, it’s
only going to get uglier.

Why don’t I see this in more – general media? Matzav – is only one. Try vinnews, theyeshivaworld, etc.
It needs to get to The EVERY yid. This is a bigger crime than so many strifes decades ago. I see almost every yid agreeing to your cause.

Bullies need to be stopped… Israel also takes steps that aren’t popular – gets them into hot water – for the sake of the state… I’m not comparing but since when do threats hold back the truth?
I agree with the filters for banning the site. If the comments were closed, that would be one thing. But since the comments are open, unfiltered, and full of inappropriate content, it becomes a real problem.
so Meir why isn’t your computer filtered?
Did the web filtering services consider it?
Would it be beneficial for them to hear from everyone why that would be a bad idea?… if yes please post info to reach out to them (politely of course).
Sorry for one more: I just got a Whatsapp with a letter to NS from Ichud. Was very explicit and “finally” speaking their language. Given that the letter is so brash – go all the way…
I’m sure you have rabbonim and ALL venues should be explored. Legal or even Media (beware mesirah – of course). It’s very heartbreaking. I would shut-up and try to listen to a possible other side – I know that NS is proud of this and actually heard Schiller talk proudly… Wake up guys…
